Contractor's Donation Helps Mansion Makeover Raise Funds for the Palliative Care Unit at Morristown Medical Center

It’s not everyday that you get a chance work on one of Morris County’s hidden gems, a New Jersey historical treasure, while ultimately improving the quality of life for many. But that’s exactly the opportunity that Mo Soliman, president of Curb Appeal Design of Morris County, NJ got. He recently was asked to to implement the architectural renovation plans for the outdoor gardens at Glynallyn Mansion in Convent Station, NJ. Glynallyn has been selected for a makeover for Morristown Medical Center’s Women's Association Mansion in May signature fundraising event. Proceeds from the month-long open house at Glynallyn and grand opening gala will raise money and support for the Inpatient Hospice & Palliative Care Center at Morristown Medical Center.

Soliman learned of this opportunity through another one of his company’s service projects with the Morris County Parks Commission, the repaving of an outdoor seating area at Mennen Sports Arena. Curb Appeal Design will build 15,000 square feet of patio/walkway and seating area for the popular recreation destination.

Volunteering for the community is a core value at Curb Appeal Design. Soliman believes his contracting team has a special gift to share with the community. All time, labor and elbow grease at the Glynallyn and Mennen Arena projects is donated by Soliman, estimated to be around $50,000. “We enjoy giving back as individuals as well” he says.

The challenge is balancing volunteer projects while coordinating his own customer’s home care issues as they assess the toll winter has taken on their homes. In unpredictable early spring, visualizing a beautiful spring day at the Mansion with the new gardens completed and in full bloom is a sight they are really looking forward to seeing.
